Continuing with the decluttering and stopping to appreciate signs of the changing season on the way back from the charity shop drop off.

Filling vases with cheap as chips supermarket daffs.

Delving into the reading pile.  The Cuckoo's Calling was a Christmas present and is my current book at bedtime.  I can't bear Harry Potter, books or films, but this easy to read crime story sans blood and guts, with a likeable main character, has turned out to be rather enjoyable.  I'll definitely be on the lookout for the next book in JKR's promised series. Magazines don't often find their way into the shopping trolley these days.  I think I've been reminded why.

An eye test, new specs and a repeat prescription. Seems I'm suffering from Keratoconjunctivitis sicca.  Otherwise known as 'dry eye syndrome'.  Surprising, really, given the ease with which I can switch on the waterworks these days.  Sheesh, such a big crybaby. 

Adding to the notebook stash.  I just can't resist.

Baking what turned out to be a deliciously moist carrot and orange (vegan) cake.  Using this recipe.  More or less.
